Sea Kayak Adventures

Our Sea Kayaking Destinations

Sea Kayak Adventures' Baja Whale Watching and Sea Kayak Tours in British Columbia (BC) are designed to provide you with the best wildlife encounters imaginable. Johnstone Strait of BC Canada's Inside Passage (between Canada's west coast and northern Vancouver Island near Port McNeill and Telegraph Cove and Robson Bight Orca Preserve and orca rubbing beaches), Baja's Magdalena Bay and the Sea of Cortez are world-renowned for sea kayaking and whale watching. The unique areas we travel to are marine parks known for their pristine wilderness and tremendous biodiversity. You'll bring back treasured memories of wildlife sightings, the natural beauty of the area, and good times with new friends.

"The trip exceeded every expectation. On a scale of 1-10, this trip was a 20! From the initial reservation to the farewell dinner, every detail was handled professionally, promptly and enthusiastically. SKA is a tremendous organization."
- Herbey Andrews, Sea of Cortez

Canada Sea Kayak Tours & Orca Waters

Orca

Map of Vancouver Island

Come to the beautiful wilderness of British Columbia's Inside Passage and join one of our Vancouver Island sea kayak tours. Experience the thrill of seeing a pod of orcas (killer whales) in their natural habitat, bald eagles perched in treetops, remote forested islands, and breathtaking scenery. We offer sea kayaking and wildlife encounters with the orcas of Johnstone Strait and the Wilderness Islands of Queen Charlotte Strait. Our lodge-based sea kayak tours at God's Pocket Resort offer a comfortable wilderness experience with all the amenities for those who wish to explore British Columbia's rugged coast in style. All our adventures are based near northern Vancouver Island.

Baja Sea Kayak & Whale Watching Tours

Blue Whale

Head south to warm, sunny Mexico and join one of our Baja sea kayaking expeditions or whale watching base camps. Get close to blue whales -- the largest animal on earth, snorkel with vibrant tropical fish and paddle a sea kayak in the legendary Sea of Cortez. Caress the soft skin of a friendly gray whale surfacing near your stiff, trek over shifting sand dunes to whalebone-littered beaches and paddle past mangroves filled with colorful birds in the peaceful waters of Magdalena Bay on our Gray Whales of Magdalena Bay trips.

Baja California, Mexico is a place of stunning natural wonder and beauty. We offer wilderness camping, whale watching and sea kayak tours in the gray whale calving lagoons of Magdalena Bay and in the blue whale realm of the Sea of Cortez. We also have snorkeling equipment and wetsuits available for rent. Check our new Yoga and Spiritual Retreat Series.

Mothership Kayak Tours in SE Alaska and Baja

Ursa Major and kayaker

We are pleased to offer a series of luxury mothership kayak tours for explorations in the spectacular Inside Passage of southeast Alaska and in the blue whale realm of Baja's Sea of Cortez. The Ursa Major, a 65' crewed trawler yacht, is a perfect vessel for viewing wildlife in comfort and safety. From May to August, Ursa Major explores Alaska's spectacular Inside Passage between Sitka and Petersburg. Cruise and kayak through this vast coastal wilderness, paddling glacier-fed waters where snow-capped peaks tower majestically above, soak in hot springs and observe abundant wildlife including whales, dolphins, bears and sea otters.

From December through April, we are offering mothership kayak tours aboard the US-flagged Ursa Major in Baja's Sea of Cortez exploring the wild islands and coast between Loreto and La Paz for six nights/seven days. The itinerary offers excellent warm water kayaking, snorkeling with sea lions, hiking past towering cactus and whale watching. The ship carries both two-person and single sea kayaks for exploring the coastlines as well as a small skiff for on shore activities.

Galapagos Island Sea Kayak, Snorkeling & Hiking Adventure

Sea lion and kayaks

This Galapagos adventure trip is the first of its kind offered in this tropical archipelago, allowing you to see the wonderful wildlife of these islands "up close and personal" from behind a paddle vs onboard a cruise, providing you a more intimate journey in the enchanting Galapagos Islands.

Travel the Galapagos Islands with sea kayak paddle in hand. Like other travelers, you'll marveled at these islands with their oceanic geologic origins, rich sea life, diverse wildlife and intriguing natural history - all of which are unique on this planet. Our Galápagos Islands Sea Kayak, Snorkeling and Hiking Adventure allows you to discover them under your own power. We leave the crowds of visitors and the well-worn paths behind to enjoy the peace of walking and paddling our way through this island paradise.
