Understanding bioluminescence and observing it in the wild

Bioluminescence is a fascinating natural phenomenon in which living organisms produce and emit light. This captivating glow is the result of a chemiluminescence reaction, where chemical energy is converted into radiant energy in the form of visible light.

Bright buildings of varying sizes and shapes create a belt of prismatic tints against the shoreline. Blue doors splash against orange panels, and a turquoise adirondack chair sits with striking discordance against the subdued palette of hunter green, blue-grey, and tan that comprises the shoreline.

After departing from the dining room full from an amazing meal of lamb curry and an abundance of laughter and good conversation we all headed to our cabins for a couple hours of rest before the infamous midnight paddle; half of us able to close our eyes, the other half waiting in anticipation for the bioluminescence twinkling under the light of the bright orange sliver of BC moon.
