This desert wilderness is one of the best winter sea kayaking, snorkeling and whale watching destinations in North America. Besides warm sunny weather and startling scenery, Baja is world-renowned for close encounters with gray, fin and blue whales in the wild.Baja is a place of stunning natural wonder and beauty. The sounds of sea birds and the smell of desert flowers. The embracing warmth of a brilliant sun. Dolphins and whales at play in clear, warm water. Pelicans plunge seaward from the blue skies and osprey occupy roosts on tall cactus - this is paradise come true. Your adventure begins in charming Loreto, a former Jesuit mission town and short flight from California. From there you'll paddle a sea kayak through the turquoise waters of Loreto Bay National Marine Park in the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California), visit desert islands, snorkel over reefs with brightly-colored fish and seek close encounters with whales. Hike an arroyo full of fascinating geology and sleep on a sandy beach beneath a star-filled sky more luminous than one could imagine. It's all up close and wild.We offer single and multi-day wilderness camping and kayaking tours in the blue whale realm of the Sea of Cortez and whale watching tours in the federally protected gray whale lagoons of Magdalena Bay. Our most popular trip is a combination of the two areas. Your guides are always ready to share their knowledge of the area, lead activities and prepare tasty meals with a Mexican flair. Join us in exploring this enchanting desert peninsula.A paddling trip to Baja is a "must-do before you die” experience. I went with Sea Kayaking Adventures and it was divine beyond measure. Their attention to detail was so intense, the only thing left for me to do was paddle, enjoy fabulous food, and relax. Now that's what I call a vacation! I give it a 10 out of 10!Ingrid Hart – Sea of Cortez
