{rokbox title=|Baja Kayak Tours :: This desert wilderness is one of the best winter adventure destinations in North America. This desert wilderness is one of the best winter sea kayaking, snorkeling and whale watching destinations in North America. Besides warm sunny weather and startling scenery, Baja is world-renowned for close encounters with gray, fin and blue whales in the wild.Baja is a place of stunning natural wonder and beauty. The sounds of sea birds and the smell of desert flowers. The embracing warmth of a brilliant sun. Dolphins and whales at play in clear, warm water. Pelicans plunge seaward from the blue skies and osprey occupy roosts on tall cactus - this is paradise come true.  Click here to view a video of a blue whale near Loreto. {rokbox thumb=|images/stories/baja.jpg|}images/stories/baja_map_large.jpg{/rokbox} Your adventure begins in charming Loreto, a former Jesuit mission town and short flight from California. From there you'll paddle a sea kayak through the turquoise waters of Loreto Bay National Marine Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California), visit desert islands, snorkel over reefs with brightly-colored fish and seek close encounters with whales. Hike an arroyo full of fascinating geology and sleep on a sandy beach beneath a star-filled sky more luminous than one could imagine. It's all up close and wild.We offer single and multi-day wilderness camping and kayaking tours in the blue whale realm of the Sea of Cortez and whale watching tours in the federally protected gray whale lagoons of Magdalena Bay.  Our most popular trip is a combination of the two areas.  We use a support boat on some of our tours to carry camping gear, food and supplies ahead of the main group. You spend less time packing and more time paddling a lighter kayak.  The panga also carries comfortable chairs and tables for dining as well as a cooler with ice for cold drinks. Your guides are always ready to share their knowledge of the area, lead activities and prepare tasty meals with a Mexican flair. Join us in exploring this enchanting desert peninsula.A paddling trip to Baja is a "must-do before you die” experience. I went with Sea Kayaking Adventures and it was divine beyond measure. Their attention to detail was so intense, the only thing left for me to do was paddle, enjoy fabulous food, and relax. Now that's what I call a vacation! I give it a 10 out of 10!Ingrid Hart – Sea of Cortez

Welcome to Sea Kayak Adventures

Celebrating 19 years in business!

Since 1993, Sea Kayak Adventures Inc. has operated sea kayaking tours to the premier whale watching destinations of Loreto in Baja California, Mexico and northern Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. Since then, we have expanded our offerings to include mothership kayaking in Alaska, sea kayaking and trekking in Patagonia and multi-sport adventures in the Galapagos.

Blue and fin whales are frequently seen in the Sea of Cortez on our Baja sea kayaking tours in Loreto Bay National Marine Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Surround yourself with gray whales at our base camp in Magdalena Bay.  Our Sea of Cortez and Magdalena Bay Combo tour is featured in National Geographic Traveler's 50 Tours of a Lifetime 2009.

On our British Columbia sea kayak tours, you can go kayaking with orcas (killer whales) in Johnstone Strait, explore wilderness islands in the Broughton Archipelago, or take a family lodge-based kayak vacation at God's Pocket Resort.

We're all about going to beautiful places to get away from it all, learning new skills, having once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounters, meeting great people and introducing you to an eco-friendly way of travel.  No prior experience is necessary and we provide all the equipment and guidance needed.

National Geographic Adventure Magazine rated Sea Kayak Adventures as one of the "Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth" in 2009. Credit for our success goes to an emphasis on environmental education, sustainability, quality of service, spirit of adventure and client satisfaction.

We are an Adventure Travel Company fully permitted and licensed in the areas we paddle.  For your safety and enjoyment we offer a high staff-to-guest ratio, highly trained guides, and top quality equipment.

Most of all, we are a Sustainable Eco Tour Company promoting responsible travel and protecting the environment by hiring and developing local guides well versed in natural history and vital conservation issues, providing funds for local conservation projects, and helping our travelers make a positive difference.

In 2007, Sea Kayak Adventures became the first sea kayaking company operating in Baja California and in British Columbia to become certified as a carbon-neutral company.
