Kayaking Tours in Portugal
Portugal is one of Europe’s most scenic paddling destinations. Our Portugal kayaking tour along the Douro River offers a unique journey through landscapes shaped by centuries of history. In Portugal, you’ll travel through vineyard covered hills, olive groves, and river canyons in one of Europe’s most storied wine regions.
Days here typically begin with relaxed paddling followed by picnics and afternoon exploration of castles, Roman remnants, or historic wine estates. Evenings are spent in local inns or boutique hotels, enjoying regional cuisine and learning about the culture of Portugal’s Douro Valley. Tours on the Rio Douro include visits to three UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Porto’s historic center, the prehistoric rock art side at the Coa Valley and the Alto Douro Wine Region.
Sea Kayaking in Corsica, France
The mountainous island of Corsica, birthplace of Napoleon, is like nowhere else in Europe. Unlike Sardinia to the south, much of Corsica’s coastline remains wild and sparsely populated. Our Corsica, France kayaking tour blends hiking and sea kayaking to show you the best parts of Corsica.
Highlights of paddling in Corsica include exploring the UNESCO protected Gulf of Girolata and the Scandola Reserve, where pink sandstone cliffs rise abruptly from the sea. Warm welcoming waters, dramatic landscapes, and excellent French cuisine all combine to make this an unforgettable Mediterranean kayaking journey. Don’t miss your chance to join us on a tour voted one of National Geographics Tours of a Lifetime!
Kayaking Tours in Turkey
The coast of Turkey is rich in history, scenery, and welcoming culture. Turkey sea kayaking tours allow you to paddle between coastal villages, explore ancient Greek and Roman ruins, and swim in warm turquoise waters.
We have been guiding sea kayaking trips in Turkey since 1984 and know the coastline well. Friendly local communities, world class cuisine, and charming inns for overnight stays make this a rewarding blend of adventure and cultural discovery.
Adriatic Sea Kayaking Tours: Croatia, Montenegro and Albania
The Adriatic coast is one of Europe’s most compelling sea kayaking regions, where turquoise waters, historic coastal towns, and layered cultural influences create an unforgettable setting for exploration. From the legendary walled-city of Dubrovnik and the Elafiti Islands with their cobblestone beaches, stone houses, and blue waters, to Montenegro’s Kotor Bay, a Renaissance-era town known for its narrow streets and warm architecture, and south to Albania’s Ionian coastline, this region blends beautiful paddling with fascinating history and memorable local cuisine.
Our Three-Country Kayaking Tour through Croatia, Montenegro, and Albania, combining island paddling, historic coastal towns, and cultural exploration shaped by Ottoman and Italian influence, along with opportunities to connect with residents and experience the rich heritage of this corner of Europe.
For a deeper exploration of a single destination, our Albania sea kayaking tour focuses on this remarkable country’s diverse landscapes, where white sand beaches and rocky coves meet dramatic mountains, river canyons, and pastoral valleys. With layers of Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Ottoman history, Albania offers both natural beauty and cultural richness for travelers seeking a lesser-known European kayaking destination.
Together, these trips highlight the diversity of the Adriatic, pairing scenic coastal paddling with inland exploration, welcoming communities, and some of the most intriguing places to travel in Europe.
Scotland Kayaking Tour
For travelers drawn to the north of Europe, our Scotland sea kayaking tour offers some of the best kayaking in Scotland combined with hikes and cultural exploration in the Highlands.
Dramatic coastal scenery, verdant landscapes, and historic castle ruins create a rich sense of place as we paddle and explore. The journey includes time in Cairngorms National Park and along sections of the Scottish Sea Kayak Trail. We stay in welcoming country inns and small hotels and visit several whisky distilleries along the way. This is a perfect balance of activity, scenery, and culture in one of Europe’s most iconic landscapes.
