“On our 5-day La Paz Espiritu Santo trip, we camped on one beautiful beach after the other. One day we even landed on one beach and hiked across the island to another fabulous beach. The lead guide and biologist, Diego, gave an excellent introduction to the various plant life, from the mangroves to the sea asparagus to the cardon cacti. He even found us a tiny bark beetle. The scenery and sunsets were spectacular. The fact that this is a protected area makes it very special and rich in sea life. We swam with the sea lions (saw a mom and her pup, so cute), snorkelled with many colourful fish and what seemed like millions of sardines and kayaked alongside manta rays, turtles and dolphins with frigate birds, blue-footed boobies and pelicans overhead. The food and drinks were also amazing, including a fabulous ceviche. The crew made sure those of us with special diets were well taken care of (if you could call Modelo Negro a special diet). We loved Tannia’s cake surprises. After Tico and Diego caught some fish, Tico showed us his great skill in fileting then cooking them. Each day ended on the beach, watching another perfect sunset and the pelicans swooping in the water for their evening meal. I enjoyed the camaraderie of all of us paddlers and the crew. Together, Diego, Tannia, Tico, Aaron and Carlos made a great team - your love for this jewel of a place shines through. Thank you for a most memorable trip.”
