Amaranta Uribe
Loreto Operations Manager and Guide
Born in Guadalajara and raised in Colima near the Pacific Ocean, Amaranta grew up in a lively family of four siblings who kept her parents—and often herself—outdoors. Frequent trips to the coast sparked her love for the ocean, and even as a young girl, she felt a deep connection to the sea and its incredible wildlife. This passion led her to study biology, ultimately bringing her to Playa del Carmen to live by the ocean.
In 2016, close friends of hers introduced her to Sea Kayak Adventures, where she immediately found her stride as a guide. Her enthusiasm for the lifestyle and passion for sharing her knowledge quickly made her a key part of the team. Today, Amaranta serves as our Loreto Operations Manager, a role in which she’s not only a leader but also a trailblazer, helping to create a culture that encourages and supports women in guiding roles.
Amaranta also continues to guide kayaking tours and leads as a naturalist at our whale camp in Magdalena Bay. In the off-season, you’ll find her spending time with her family, creating delicious dishes in her kitchen, practicing yoga, climbing, and escaping to the mountains for some camping.
