Note on Flying Out of Loreto

Please note that the check in counters for flights departing from Loreto to the USA close 1 hour before the flight. While the airlines state you should arrive 3 hours before your flight, you might consider arriving 1 1/2 to 2 hours before your flight, as Loreto is a small airport. Your personal comfort level should dictate your decision

Alternative Flight Option

One alternative flight option is to fly from your home airport to San Diego and take the Cross Border Bridge (CBX) on foot into Tijuana.

The Cross Border Bridge (CBX) is just 30 minutes by taxi from the San Diego Airport. You will need a special ticket to cross the bridge that we highly recommend you purchase in advance. You can purchase your ticket and pay the Mexico transit tax on the CBX website prior to your arrival at the bridge. Once you get there, you will need to show your ticket and boarding pass in order to cross over into Tijuana, where the bridge takes you straight to the Tijuana airport. From here Volaris Airlines or Aero Calafia offers flights to Loreto.

This is an option that may appeal to those traveling from the western parts of the United States or Canada.  Be aware that if you choose this option, you are buying two different air tickets. Please do make sure you have enough time in between flights to make the crossing, account for any delays, traffic, etc.
